Recent changes

In 2023, the government rolled out the CDCP, and with that came a new tax reporting requirement. Employers are now obligated to report whether or not an employee had access to dental benefits during the tax reporting year.

Additionally, in response to concerns about the longevity of the CPP and QPP, the government also created a secondary contribution level for higher earners starting in 2024. This second level provides extra benefits during retirement, and only those who pay into it will have access to it.
