Benefits by Design (BBD) is on a mission to help working Canadians promote and protect their health, wealth, and happiness by delivering employee benefits by design.
What we do
There is something very distinctive and descriptive about the name Benefits by Design. It showcases our tremendous expertise in the benefits space and our incredible amount of plan design options because of our capabilities as a Third Party Administrator.
While we refer to ourselves as BBD, BBD is who we are – not what we do. What we do for customers is one thing: benefits by design (and we do that really well!).
When we provide benefit programs for working Canadians, we suggest that they consider their Health, Wealth, and Happiness. An employee that is healthy, wealthy, and happy is far more likely to be productive and engaged and feel supported by their employer.

Our history

1996
BBD is acquired by the current owners. BBD opens its doors in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.

2001
BBD goes national, celebrating its first Ontario office location in Kingston.

The black and yellow corporate colours are born. Boston Bruins jokes ensue!

BBD wins its first workplace award and opens its second Ontario office location in Toronto.

BBD brings benefits administration to the masses through Nomad, our online administration portal.
